Google now shows ENS wallet balances in search results
Vitalik Buterin is surprised by L2 usage since Dencun
3AC tried to snag LayerZero’s treasury days before the collapse

Specs’ Breakdown
1. Google now shows ENS wallet balances in search results
⌐◪-◪ → Google, the world’s most popular search engine, now shows the wallet balance of ENS wallets.
This isn’t Google’s first foray into crypto either, last year they added support for Ethereum wallet balances, but now they’ve expanded this functionality to ENS domains.
This move solidifies ENS’ position as the go-to name service and identity layer for web3 and will encourage other web2 services to do the same when they are ready to transition into web3.
I’ve always believed that mainstream crypto adoption would stem from web2 platforms becoming blockchain explorers in their own small ways — and this is a perfect example of exactly that.
Hopefully, we’ll see more web2 platforms integrate blockchain in ways that enhance their existing product/service offering.
It’ll also be interesting to see how this affects the ENS market.
Note: The service isn’t universally available yet, and works more consistently in private browsing mode or when logged out of Google.
2. Vitalik Buterin is surprised by L2 usage since Dencun
⌐◪-◪ → Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin is disappointed with the usage of layer-2 networks following Ethereum’s Dencun upgrade.
The Dencun upgrade introduced blobs, a data storage solution that let L2s store data on-chain for a temporary period, drastically reducing gas fees to near zero.
Despite low gas fees, usage is 67% lower than expected — but this could be due to a number of external factors like marketing, UI/UX, development time, or the market in general.
To be clear, it’s not that L2 usage is down — it’s doubled in terms of transaction volume since last week — it’s just not as high as expected given the dramatic lowering in L2 fees.
Realistically, it’s too early to assess the success/failure of blogs as some major networks have yet to integrate Dencun at all, like Polygon for example.
3. 3AC tried to snag LayerZero’s treasury days before the collapse
⌐◪-◪ → LayerZero’s CEO Brian Pellegrino says 3AC’s co-founder Kyle Davis tried to trick them into sending over their entire treasury just days before 3AC collapsed.
I’m sure there’s more to the story here, but this just sounds so wildly reckless on 3AC’s part.
If you want to put a face to the name, here’s a clip from Laura Shin’s recent interview with Kyle Davies where she put him on full blast.
This is the same guy by the way who refuses to take responsibility and apologize for 3AC going bankrupt. More specifically, he said:
“Am I sorry for a company going bankrupt? No, like companies go bankrupt, almost every company goes bankrupt, right?”
What a moron. Again I’m sure there’s more to the story here and I’m not super plugged into the 3AC drama, but I’m pretty sure I hate this guy now. LMK what you think in Specs Chat.
