Our Insights

⌐◪-◪ → Trump drops a new $99 NFT collection called—The Mugshot Edition—in a classic Trump-style video.

At one point in the video he says, “I wish I looked as good as I do in those cards. They give me muscles where, believe me, I don’t have them”.

The collection will feature physical trading cards made from the suit Trump wore during his mugshot, and for those who purchase 47 cards, an invitation to a gala dinner with Trump at Mar-A-Largo.

Sure, it might be Trump, but a former President and current Presidential Candidate issuing NFTs is definitely bullish for the space.

⌐◪-◪ → The points meta is all the rage these days, with projects like Blur, FriendTech, and Warpcast using them to incentivize engagement with their products.

Rainbow decided to reward 1) anyone with an ETH wallet 2) people that switch from MetaMask; and 3) existing Rainbow Wallet users. Full details here.

Requirement #2 is the “vampire attack”, a customer acquisition tactic that focuses on stealing customers from a competitor.

Feels like MetaMask might get vampire crushed by Rainbow like OpenSea did by Blur, who now dominates 80% of the NFT market by volume.

⌐◪-◪ → South Korean messaging giant, LINE, just raised $140M in preparation for its NFT Platform launch in January 2024.

LINE NEXT, their NFT arm, plans to help brands “give ownership” of existing digital products, so that they ca be traded permissiolessly.

The company also plans to introduce web3 games featuring its beloved characters BROWN & FRIENDS.

This move is a pretty big deal as LINE has over 178 million users across its four main markets, with 92 million in Japan alone. Hide your JPEGs fam.
