1. Ripple’s RLUSD gains approval from NY's Financial Services

⌐◪-◪ → A stablecoin is born!

Ripple Labs has received approval from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) to launch its stablecoin, RULSD.

This is a huge regulatory win for Ripple, a company that has faced significant enforcement actions from the SEC over the past few years. Now, Ripple enters the Great Stablecoin Race. Here are the top stablecoins by market cap for context:

  1. Tether → $233B

  2. Circle → $14.5B

  3. Ethena → $170M

  4. DAI → $137M

  5. First Digital → $9M

Ripple has a strong chance of breaking into the top 5 stablecoins within the next year. The coin has already been tested on the XRP Ledger and Ethereum networks, and their CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, said, “Exchange and partner listings will be live soon.”

With recent price gains, regulatory momentum, and Trump teasing zero capital gains tax on U.S. crypto, the future looks bright for Ripple. Let’s see how far they can climb.

2. Microsoft shareholders reject proposal to add Bitcoin to its treasury

⌐◪-◪ → Have fun staying poor, Microsoft.

Microsoft shareholders have officially voted against buying Bitcoin as a treasury reserve asset.

The proposal came from the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR), a conservative think tank that has filed over 60 Bitcoin proposals at Fortune 500 companies, including Amazon.

Surprisingly, Justin Sun chimed in, saying, “Bitcoin price is not high enough... I highly recommend buying it when Bitcoin reaches 1 million USD.” It’s unclear whether he’s joking or serious.

Personally, I think this is a massive missed opportunity for Microsoft. The risk of NOT participating in Bitcoin is far greater than the risk OF participating, especially with a reasonable allocation (e.g., 5%).

While this decision is disappointing, it only delays the inevitable. I’m curious to see how Amazon’s shareholders respond to a similar proposal. Someone should definitely track the NCPPR’s 60 Bitcoin proposals—it’s becoming a fascinating subplot.

3. MicroStrategy expected to join Nasdaq 100 on December 23rd

⌐◪-◪ → Saylor Moon is joining the Nasdaq 100!

MicroStrategy ($MSTR), the largest corporate Bitcoin holder, will be included in the Nasdaq 100 index on December 23, with an official announcement expected this Friday.

This is a huge milestone for both MicroStrategy and Bitcoin. ETFs tracking the Nasdaq 100 will purchase approximately $2.1B worth of MSTR shares, reflecting its 0.47% weight in the index.

For every new addition to the “Top 100,” someone must exit. In this case, it looks like Moderna will be replaced, signaling a shift in market focus.

Millions of investors worldwide will now have indirect exposure to Bitcoin via MicroStrategy—an exposure that will only increase as MicroStrategy grows and more top companies adopt Bitcoin treasury strategies.

The Bitcoin standard is here, and if you’re not sufficiently bullish yet, it might be time to rethink.
