BlackRock Registers Ethereum Trust in Delaware—ETH ETF Next? - Decrypt

Wall Street titan BlackRock has registered an iShares Ethereum Trust in Delaware, a potential precursor to an ETH ETF application.

⌐◪-◪ → ETH is ripping after BlackRock filed a new entity called “iShares Ethereum Trust” in Delaware - suggesting plans for an Ethereum ETF. While this is not an official ETF filing, BlackRock executed a similar move ahead of official filing for its Bitcoin ETF back in June. Other entities have already filed for Ethereum ETFs, with decisions due in December.

Poloniex Hot Wallets Hacked With $114M Seemingly Stolen: On-Chain Data

Poloniex investor Justin Sun confirmed the exploit, saying the exchange will reimburse affected users and offering a "white hat bounty" to the hacker.

⌐◪-◪ → Justin Sun has confirmed the hack and announced a 5% whitehate bounty if the hacker decides to return the funds. A quick $5M, with no legal reprecussions, makes a life of crime look pretty good, eh? The best part is, the hacker made a $2M mistake by copypasting the wrong address, sending tokens to a contract.

JPMorgan Adds Programmable Payments ‘Holy Grail’ to JPM Coin - Decrypt

The new feature enabling the automated transfer of funds has already been employed by German firm Siemens AG.

⌐◪-◪ → JPMorgan’s has gone live with programmable payments, which are already being used by Siemens, FedEx, and Cargill. JPMorgan has been tinkering with programmable payments since 2021, through pilots with Siemens, the German tech congolomerate. I get mixed feelings from announcements like this. On one hand, I get excited for mainstream adoption, on the other, I’m fearful of big banks maintaining (and abusing) their centralized powers.
