⌐◪-◪ → Joe Rogan just blasted NFTs on his podcast and used the classic “no value” and “right-click and save” argument.

I’ll admit, as an NFT collector, I was a bit triggered, but I think there is a lesson in this — most of the world still thinks NFTs are just overpriced JPEGs.

I get it, it’s easy to get distracted by the crazy price tags and ridiculous speculation, but you can’t lose sight of what’s important here.

Digital ownership is kind of a big deal in a world that’s increasingly digital. Frankly, it’s the bedrock of the metaverse.

Ownership rights are one of the core pillars of society, without them it’s chaos — NFTs simply make that a reality on the digital frontier.

Maybe NFTs do need a rebrand though.

2. ZachXBT reveals Murad’s memecoin wallets holding ~$24M

⌐◪-◪ → Doxing the doxed. ZachXBT just identified 11 wallets linked to Murad Mahmudov, the legendary memecoin trader, holding $24M in memecoins.

Naturally, crypto Twitter is outraged, slamming ZachXBT for “doxing” Murad and “putting a target” on his back, even though it was all public information, and in many ways Murad already doxed himself.

Think about it, if Murad wanted to cover his tracks, he wouldn’t:

  • Fund the wallets from the same source

  • A source that’s tied to his startup multisig

  • Tweet about every buy/sell in precise amounts

There are plenty of ways to keep your holdings private, or at a minimum, make them a lot harder to trace — Murad did none of these.

3. HBO documentary claims Peter Todd is Satoshi, Todd denies it

⌐◪-◪ → HBO’s documentary Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery is finally out, and they are claiming Peter Todd is Satoshi Nakamoto.

While I don’t believe their claim, nor does most of crypto Twitter, the truth is — like the rest of you — I have no idea.

Peter is now one of many potential Satoshis, along with other cypherpunks like Hal Finney, Nick Szabo, Dorian Nakamoto, Paul Le Roux, and more.

As for who Peter Todd is, he’s a Canadian developer, cypherpunk, and early contributor to Bitcoin Core — the main software implementation of the Bitcoin protocol.

Todd has already denied being Satoshi on Twitter.
